About The Position

LeafSpring Schools is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to lead their own classroom in a nurturing, high-quality preschool environment. The role involves helping young children grow through hands-on learning, structured routines, and compassionate guidance. Requirements

• Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency.
• Strong knowledge of child development, learning domains, and early intervention best practices.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of state child care licensing regulations and quality standards.
• Background in inclusive education, sensory integration, or differentiated instruction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage a classroom that promotes preschool readiness, emotional intelligence, and social skill development.
• Mentor assistant teachers and work closely with families.
• Develop and implement lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and individualized instruction.
• Lead circle time, group activities, learning centers, and classroom transitions.
• Foster early academic skills including pre-literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and language development.
• Utilize observation and assessment tools to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment aligned with NAEYC standards.
• Supervise and guide Assistant Teachers and Aides, modeling effective teaching strategies and classroom routines.
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
• Implement positive behavior guidance and social-emotional learning strategies.
• Maintain open communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled conferences.
• Support and attend family engagement events, parent education sessions, and school celebrations.
• Collaborate with school administrators and fellow teachers to ensure alignment with school goals and state licensing standards.
