Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 12 years of engineering experience.
  • 8 years’ experience in thermal system design (engine/exhaust and component protection experience).
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of successfully leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools and analysis of thermal systems.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing of thermal components.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and strive to exhibit a positive attitude, as well as a growth mindset.
  • Comfortable with change and flexible in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Collaborative approach to achieve ambitious goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of thermal management solutions for powertrain, and under hood thermal systems.
  • Understanding of materials and applied to shielding techniques and protections.
  • Help establish requirements where needed.
  • Help establish detailed simulation and analysis to optimize the performance and efficiency of thermal components.
  • Implement design improvements based on simulation results to enhance overall system reliability.
  • Ensure all thermal safety related designs are fully characterized and understood.
  • Lead and mentor a team of thermal engineers to ensure high-performance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide directions for exhaust systems and component protection.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Oversee the prototyping and testing of thermal components to validate design performance.
  • Perform and lead vehicle level testing (out west, or unknown locations supporting conditions).
  • Analyze test data and implement necessary adjustments to improve system efficiency.
  • Work closely with drive/engine systems, power electronics engineers, control systems engineers, and software developers to integrate thermal solutions seamlessly.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support the production and assembly of thermal components.
  • Help prepare detailed design documentation, specifications, and reports for thermal system components.
  • Safety voice for the company as related to thermal components.
  • Experience with escalation of issues related.
