About The Position

The Lead Therapist is responsible for overseeing the implementation of treatment plans for clients, ensuring adherence to evidence-based therapies, and providing guidance and support to Line Therapists. This role involves direct client work, data review, and communication with parents, guardians, supervisors, and interventionists. The Lead Therapist must be adept at making adjustments to client objectives, modeling therapies, and ensuring generalization of skills across various settings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapies including but not limited ABA, Discrete Trial, Pivotal Response Training, and Natural Environment Training.
  • Ability to make adjustments to client objectives/targets as needed.
  • Understanding of prompting procedures, data collection, and error correction procedures.
  • Ability to think on your feet and make suggestions and/or corrections as needed relating to client programs, data collection, and issues and/or concerns.
  • Ability to ensure that the line therapist(s) are generalizing programs throughout multiple settings/environments.
  • Ability to ensure that the line therapist includes maintenance goals within current programming.
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to the Line Therapist(s).
  • Ability to report issues and/or concerns relating to family, client, or team to your supervisor.
  • Ability to report progress and/or concerns to your Interventionist.
  • Ability to receive parent/guardian feedback, responding to or forwarding concerns to the appropriate person.
  • Ability to observe the implementation of goals facilitated by the Line Therapist to ensure they follow the ITP.
  • Ability to communicate with the parent/guardian and respond to concerns as needed.
  • Ability to provide the Interventionist with mastered goals/graphs/or other data to be updated.
  • Ability to model new objectives and/or techniques as necessary.
  • Ability to monitor programs to ensure that generalization of skills and maintenance goals are being worked on in multiple settings.
  • Ability to inform the Interventionist of any concerns or issues.
  • Ability to prepare work related to the client’s program, such as visual schedules, token boards, program materials for various skill sets, academic materials, arts/crafts, etc. (outside the client's home, requires approval).

Responsibilities

  • Work a maximum of six (6) hours each week per client, with four (4) hours in the client's home and two (2) hours outside the home as needed.
  • Ensure the treatment plan is implemented as designed and effectively.
  • Review all data collected by the Line Therapist and parent/guardian.
  • Make adjustments to client objectives/targets as needed.
  • Understand prompting procedures, data collection, and error correction procedures.
  • Model all therapies/objectives the client is working on and teach the line therapist how to implement all programs.
  • Make suggestions and/or corrections as needed relating to client programs, data collection, and issues/concerns.
  • Ensure that the line therapist(s) are generalizing programs throughout multiple settings/environments.
  • Ensure that the line therapist includes maintenance goals within current programming.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Line Therapist(s).
