About The Position

The Lead Therapist is responsible for ensuring the treatment plan is implemented as designed and effectively. This includes reviewing data collected by the Line Therapist and parent/guardian, modeling therapies, teaching Line Therapists how to implement programs, and making necessary adjustments to client objectives. The Lead Therapist also provides guidance and support to Line Therapists, reports issues to supervisors, and communicates progress and concerns to the Interventionist. Daily requirements include observing goal implementation in the client's home, providing support to the Line Therapist, reviewing data, communicating with parents/guardians, and preparing data for the Interventionist. Additionally, up to two hours per week may be spent on client program-related work outside the home, subject to approval.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapies including but not ABA, Discrete Trial, Pivotal Response Training, and Natural Environment Training.
  • Understanding of prompting procedures, data collection, and error correction procedures.
  • Ability to think on your feet and make suggestions and/or corrections as needed relating to client programs, data collection, and issues and/or concerns.
  • Ability to ensure that the line therapist(s) are generalizing programs throughout multiple settings/environments.
  • Ability to ensure that the line therapist includes maintenance goals within current programming.

Responsibilities

  • Work a maximum six (6) hours each week per client, with four (4) hours MUST be in the customer’s home.
  • Ensure the treatment plan is implemented as designed and effectively.
  • Review all data collected by the Line Therapist and parent/guardian.
  • Model all therapies/objectives the client is working on and teach the line therapist how to implement all programs.
  • Make adjustments to client objectives/targets as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Line Therapist(s).
  • Report issues and/or concerns relating to family, client, or team to your supervisor.
  • Report progress and/or concerns to your Interventionist.
  • Receive parent/guardian feedback, responding to or forwarding concerns to the appropriate person.
  • Observe the implementation of goals facilitated by the Line Therapist to ensure they follow the ITP.
  • Communicate with the parent/guardian.
  • Respond to concerns as needed.
  • Provide the Interventionist with mastered goals/graphs/ or other data to be updated.
  • Model new objectives and/or techniques as necessary.
  • Monitor programs to ensure that generalization of skills and maintenance goals are being worked on in multiple settings.
  • Inform the Interventionist of any concerns or issues.
  • Work related to the client’s program, such as visual schedules, token boards, program materials for various skill sets, academic materials, arts/crafts, etc. (up to 2 hours/week as needed – based on approval).
