About The Position

Mercury Systems is seeking a Lead Test Technician to join its Test Operations group in Torrance, California. The role is a hands-on position supporting the company’s growth and secure mission-critical technology for military and defense applications. The technician performs environmental and functional testing, troubleshoots test equipment, supports team training and continuous-improvement initiatives, and helps ensure test work meets production schedules and quality standards. The position requires the ability to obtain a government security clearance; clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Requirements

Typically 5–7 years of experience in environmental and functional testing, including ESS, thermal cycling, and vibration.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience troubleshooting test fixtures, setups, and related equipment.
Strong electronics background.
Ability to work with various mechanical hand tools.
Familiarity with ESD procedures.
Ability to work overtime based on business demands.
Must be able to obtain a government security clearance upon hire; clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
Comfortable leading daily meetings.

Nice To Haves

Previous leadership experience.
Experience with Python, LabView, or other automated test scripts.

Responsibilities

Participate in hardware reviews and help drive failure reviews.
Collaborate with lab management to cross-train team members on test functions and hardware.
Troubleshoot test fixtures, setups, and related equipment.
Conduct environmental and functional testing, including ESS, thermal cycling, vibration, and electrical pre/post testing.
Support 5S initiatives and promote lean manufacturing principles within the test area.
Meet or exceed production schedules and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Complete logs, documentation, and forms accurately in accordance with company policies and practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Lead daily meetings.
