About The Position

Mercury Systems is seeking a Lead Test Technician to join its Test Operations group in Torrance, California. The role supports secure, mission-critical technology for military and defense customers and is suited to a hands-on individual who can contribute to the company’s growth. The technician performs environmental and functional testing, troubleshoots fixtures and test setups, supports team training and lean manufacturing practices, and helps ensure production schedules and quality standards are met. The role requires the ability to obtain a government security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Requirements

Typically requires 5–7 years of environmental and functional testing experience, including ESS, thermal cycling, and vibration testing.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience troubleshooting test fixtures, setups, and related equipment.
Strong electronics background.
Ability to work with various mechanical hand tools.
Familiarity with ESD procedures.
Ability to work overtime based on business demands.
Must be able to obtain a government security clearance upon hire; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
Comfort leading daily meetings.

Nice To Haves

Previous leadership experience.
Experience with Python, LabView, or other automated test scripts.

Responsibilities

Participate in hardware reviews and help drive failure reviews.
Collaborate with lab management to cross-train team members on test functions and hardware.
Troubleshoot test fixtures, setups, and related equipment.
Conduct environmental and functional testing, including ESS, thermal cycling, vibration, and electrical pre- and post-testing.
Support 5S initiatives and promote lean manufacturing principles in the test area.
Meet or exceed production schedules and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Accurately complete logs, documentation, and forms in accordance with company policies and practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Lead daily meetings.
