About The Position

GDIT is hiring a Lead Test Engineer, Sr Principal, to support the Department of Defense and the Air Force’s cyber defense mission. The role governs the Enterprise Test Framework and independent verification activities across pipelines and platforms. In conjunction with the Government, the engineer develops, governs, and enforces standardized testing methodologies and quality assurance blueprints across Task Order repositories, establishing a unified software testing approach such as BDD or TDD. The position conducts independent penetration tests on platform engineering and applications, including adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures emulation. It independently reviews source code with government-furnished tools for deep codebase analysis before staging deployment, and provides formal Go/No-Go release recommendations to the PMO based on objective test results. The engineer also validates security boundaries and data flows between Dev/Test networks, the System Integration Lab, and operational production networks, and audits automated security gates and scans in CI/CD pipelines. Daily SCIF access supports hands-on penetration testing and evaluation of classified test results. The role supports enforcement of test standards and RMF/ICAM/Zero Trust compliance through independent security testing and pipeline auditing before releases reach production. The position is onsite in the San Antonio, Texas area, with 10–25% travel and 40 scheduled hours per week.
