About The Position

The Lead Teller is responsible for ensuring the smooth and orderly operation of teller lines and daily teller activities. This role supervises and supports teller staff, manages vault and cash dispenser operations, performs audits and balancing, and provides teller overrides within established authority. Lead Tellers actively coach and develop tellers, assist with scheduling and workflow, and partner with branch leadership to maintain compliance, accuracy, and exceptional member service. In addition to leadership duties, the Lead Teller assists members directly with financial transactions, promotes credit union products and electronic services, and helps ensure members are aware of digital banking options such as online banking, mobile apps, Bill Pay, e-statements, and remote deposit capture.

Requirements

  • Two years of cash handling or related experience (financial institution preferred)
  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent, or GED
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with a member-focused mindset
  • Above-average math skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in high-pressure situations
  • High integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
