About The Position

The Lead Technician will be responsible for installing and managing HVAC systems, including rooftop units. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and company policies. The technician must be able to work independently and lead a small crew, manage project resources, and ensure all work is performed to code and industry standards.

Requirements

  • EPA universal certifications.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience installing HVAC systems.
  • Ability to braise ¼ to 2’’ copper pipe.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work off ladders, and on roofs.
  • Understanding of HVAC theory and refrigerant cycle.
  • Understanding of crane signaling and rigging.
  • Technology proficient.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and single line drawings.
  • Working knowledge of low voltage and up to 600 volt wiring.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
  • Ability to cut, thread, and install gas pipe.
  • Basic knowledge of State, City, county MEP codes.
  • Ability to lead up to a 4-person crew.
  • Ability to manage budget, material, and labor.
  • Uphold safety and company policies.
  • Basic understanding of service.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to be on time.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to kneel, crawl, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to fill out proper documentation, via paperwork, phone, computer or tablet.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

  • Install systems from ½ ton split to 200 ton roof top systems.
  • Braise ¼ to 2’’ copper pipe.
  • Climb ladders, work off ladders, and on roofs.
  • Understand HVAC theory and refrigerant cycle.
  • Understand crane signaling and rigging.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and single line drawings.
  • Work with low voltage and up to 600 volt wiring.
  • Cut, thread, and install gas pipe.
  • Manage budget, material, and labor.
  • Uphold safety and company policies.
  • Perform basic service tasks.
  • Ensure punctuality and professional appearance.
  • Fill out proper documentation via paperwork, phone, computer, or tablet.
