The Lead Service Technician is a hands-on technical leader responsible for supervising a team of technicians who perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on company equipment. This role combines deep mechanical expertise with team leadership, driving equipment reliability, technician development, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience in car wash maintenance or equipment installation preferred.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Mechanical knowledge expert.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and collaboratively resolve problems.
  • Professional communication and customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and coach technicians on best practices, safety standards, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Continuously improve technician training programs (onboarding, upskilling, and cross-training).
  • Evaluate technician performance and identify skill gaps; create development plans.
  • Lead initiatives to improve equipment uptime, efficiency, and lifespan.
  • Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Analyze equipment failures and implement root cause corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize equipment performance.
  • Review all work orders for wash equipment and prioritize repairs.
  • Inspect wash quality and equipment performance.
  • Serve as a technical leader and escalation point for complex equipment issues.
  • Partner with operations leadership to resolve ongoing issues.
  • Support scheduling and prioritization of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with warehouse for parts sourcing and ordering.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as timekeeping, PTO approvals, credit card coding, etc. per schedule.
