About The Position

The Safe & Sound Teacher is responsible for leading classroom operations and day-to-day activities. This role involves creating and implementing curriculum, leading and supervising assistant teachers, observing and assessing child development, ensuring a safe classroom environment, building positive relationships with children and families, implementing behavior management techniques, adhering to licensing and regulatory requirements, and maintaining clear communication.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child development.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A nurturing approach.
  • Meet licensing and background requirements.
  • Hold or obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Employee Health and Safety Trainings.
  • CPR & first aid.
  • Child abuse training.
  • Communicable disease training.
  • Required OCCRA trainings.

Nice To Haves

  • CDA, associate's degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and Implement Curriculum: Design and implement engaging and age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development in areas such as social skills, language, and motor development.
  • Lead and Supervise: Supervise and guide a team of assistant teachers, providing support, training, and mentorship to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Child Development: Observe and assess children’s progress and development, providing feedback to parents, caregivers, and management as needed.
  • Ensure Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Develop strong, trusting relationships with children and their families, ensuring open communication and a welcoming, inclusive environment.
  • Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior management techniques to encourage positive social interactions, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all licensing and regulatory requirements, ensuring the daycare center is in full compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with parents, staff, and management regarding daily activities, milestones, and concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Management team.
