About The Position
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the lead teacher is responsible for overseeing the site, staff, and students, ensuring the safety and well-being of students attending the program. This role involves maintaining site records, leading teachers and program counselors, and communicating effectively with school staff, principals, and parents. The lead teacher will also plan and lead monthly parent meetings and events, and collect data regarding student progress.
Requirements
- NC Teaching Certification in reading, math
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years related experience or training
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and cloud technology
- Experience working with children and a diverse community
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be reliable, self-motivated and a good role model.
