About The Position

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for providing a safe, positive, creative, and nurturing learning environment for children aged 2-3. This role involves guiding children's development in language, autonomy, social interaction, and physical activities. The Lead Teacher will also communicate with parents about their child's progress, collaborate with team members and volunteers, and ensure all classroom activities are developmentally appropriate. Additionally, the position requires completing and submitting all necessary paperwork, including lesson plans, child assessments, and daily logs, and supporting the school's diversity initiatives.

Requirements

  • Completed an associate's degree or CDA in Infant/Toddler (2's/toddler Teacher).
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working with children (ages 2-3).
  • Familiarity with Head Start, the Creative Curriculum, preschool assessments, creating lesson plans, behavior management, and early childhood practices.
  • Must be willing to complete paperwork, including lesson plans, child assessments, child daily logs, and classroom logs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires minimal supervision.
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions.
  • Judgement - Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in the decision-making process; makes timely decisions.

Responsibilities
