About The Position

BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher at its Ellington, Connecticut center. The Lead Teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide children in their care with a home-away-from-home experience, following NAEYC guidelines. The role serves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in one assigned classroom and includes creating developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities, maintaining a warm and safe environment, and partnering with families to support children’s care and education.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Head Teacher certification, 12 credits in Early Childhood Education courses, or a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of experience in a licensed child care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in one assigned classroom.
• Create developmentally appropriate curriculum according to NAEYC standards.
• Develop programs and activities based on children’s interests and learning styles.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment where children can grow and explore.
• Partner with families to create plans that provide appropriate care and education for their children.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
