Founded in 1970 as South Philadelphia Health Action and subsequently incorporated as Greater Philadelphia Health Action, GPHA is a non-profit healthcare organization with a commitment to provide compassionate and affordable healthcare services regardless of an individual’s ability to pay. Since 1970, GPHA has expanded to become one of the premier providers of primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare in the Greater Philadelphia area. We are presently seeking a Lead Teacher at GPHA’s Keystone Star IV Woodland Academy Child Development Center. Our hours of work are 7:30-4:00pm. Hours may vary depending on operational needs. GPHA Teachers care for the children to meet their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs in and out of the classroom. Teachers are also responsible, for the daily operations and management of the classroom, supervision, assessments, and completion of all required reports according to the established agency policies, procedures, and other written and oral instructions.

Requirements

Completed an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university with a BA in ECE (Early Childhood Education), child development or elementary education.
Two years’ experience related to the care and development of children in a child care setting.

Nice To Haves

Certification is preferred or seeking to become certified.

Responsibilities

Care for the children to meet their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs in and out of the classroom.
Responsible for the daily operations and management of the classroom.
Supervision of children.
Assessments of children.
Completion of all required reports according to the established agency policies, procedures, and other written and oral instructions.
