Requirements

Associate’s degree or higher in education or a related field with two years of classroom experience, or a technical diploma in education, or significant college credit in early childhood education.
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
High energy and the ability to work well with staff, children, and parents while fostering a team environment.
Strong understanding of child development.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Completion of 10 hours of Health and Safety Orientation Training within the first 90 days.
Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification within 90 days of hire.
Comprehensive background check required.
Completion of 10 hours of annual training each year after the first year.
Strong observational and situational awareness skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Basic leadership and decision-making capabilities.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to manage time and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Three-year Motor Vehicle Report.
TB test and drug testing.
Background check.
Work performed in an office and childcare environment.
Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
Track progress of children through developmentally appropriate screenings and assessments.
Input student data in the educational tracking system consistently.
Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
Maintain frequent communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
Ensure a healthy classroom environment including hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and security of children.
Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and safety standards.
Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Assist where needed to ensure compliance.
