About The Position
The Learning Experience - East Brunswick is seeking a caring and energetic Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team and lead a classroom of 2-year-old children. This is a great opportunity for an experienced daycare or preschool teacher who enjoys helping young children build language, independence, confidence, and social skills. You'll create a structured and nurturing classroom where children learn through play, exploration, and positive relationships.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to meet New Jersey childcare licensing requirements
Nice To Haves
- Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or early childhood education experience preferred
- Experience working with toddlers or 2-year-old children strongly preferred
- Previous Lead Teacher or classroom leadership experience is a plus
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus
- Patient, nurturing, dependable, and energetic
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom routines and learning experiences for 2-year-old children
- Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Create engaging activities through art, music, movement, sensory play, stories, and hands-on learning
- Support language, cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development
- Encourage independence, self-help skills, and positive peer interactions
- Support meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
- Maintain consistent classroom routines and positive behavior guidance
- Observe children's development and maintain required classroom documentation
- Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families
- Collaborate with Assistant Teachers and center leadership
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
- Follow New Jersey childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
