Lead Teacher - Kids Crest of Country Manor
About The Position
Kids Crest of Country Manor is opening a brand-new childcare center at Pinecrest in Brainerd and is seeking enthusiastic, caring Lead Teachers. This center builds on the success of Kids Country Child Care and Learning Center, which was voted Central Minnesota’s Best Childcare Center and Best Preschool. The new center will feature five age-specific classrooms and outdoor play areas. As part of the Pinecrest campus, Kids Crest offers unique intergenerational activities and opportunities for children and seniors to build relationships. Teachers can also utilize the campus for a change of scenery and participate in community events. As a Lead Teacher, you will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom, develop age-appropriate lesson plans, guide classroom activities, collaborate with assistant teachers, and help children build skills and confidence for future success. Requirements
- Teaching degree, or close to completing degree OR CDA Certification
- 1+ year experience in a child care center
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and families
Responsibilities
- Interact and build relationships with students
- Develop and implement lesson plans that promote the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual growth of your students
- Collaborate with your fellow teachers and local schools to offer special interest clubs (STEM, Cooking Club, etc.) that will spark curiosity and reinforce the skills students are being taught in school
- Supervise classrooms and maintain a fun and interactive environment for all
- Monitor the development of each child and communicate progress with parents
- Work 1:1 with students to help with homework
- Lead activities such as arts/crafts, science experiments, and gym games
- Plan frequent field trips and accompany students for the fun!
