The Lead Teacher Trainer position at Chess Wizards plays a key role in aligning our instructors' performance with our customers' expectations, serving as a vital stepping stone toward future management opportunities. In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of our top instructors, the Lead Teacher Trainer takes on the added challenge of assisting in the training, development, and coaching of other instructors. This role involves leading fun, interactive chess classes for elementary students, guiding activities, keeping students engaged, and redirecting behavior when needed. Lead Teacher Trainers are expected to set an example for the Chess Wizards experience for kids, parents, school administration, and colleagues, aligning with the company's mission statement. The position requires availability during after-school hours at least 4 days per week, with a preference for 5 days during peak program weeks. Classes typically start between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, with a standard program time of one hour. Teachers must arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start time and stay until all students are safely dismissed. Lead Teacher Trainers are paid per class, with additional pay for longer class times. They are also prioritized for day camp opportunities during breaks. The role includes assisting the Area Manager with instructor coaching, customer service, marketing efforts, and troubleshooting program challenges. Responsibilities also include completing class evaluation reports and communicating daily with their supervisor during the programming season.
