About The Position

L3Harris’ Spectrum Superiority segment is seeking a Systems Engineer to support multiple programs, with an emphasis on Systems Integration and Test. The position is based at the company’s Salt Lake City, Utah facility and leads life-cycle support of systems from conceptual development through product phase-out. Work includes proposal support, requirements analysis and management, technical documentation, participation in design oversight, and design synthesis within a multifunctional engineering environment. The role focuses on Integration and Test (I&T), supporting the development, verification, and validation of complex systems. The engineer plans and executes systems integration activities, develops test strategies, and ensures system performance meets defined requirements across hardware, software, and networked components.

The work schedule is 9/80: employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, and have every other Friday off. Travel to customer and subcontractor sites for technical meetings and verification activities is required 20–40% of the time.

Requirements

• ABET (EAC/CAC)-accredited bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of prior relevant experience; or a graduate degree and at least 7 years of prior related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, at least 13 years of prior related experience.
• Currently hold a DoD security clearance.

• Experience in system-level development, requirements definition, analysis, and risk mitigation for Communications, Open Systems Architecture, Satellite Communications, and/or Electronic Presentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and conduct of technical projects or portions of projects in a focused, high-productivity environment.
• Capture and manage customer and derived requirements; decompose and assign requirements to appropriate functional areas; and maintain traceability from the verification test matrix to original customer and system-level derived requirements.
• Develop technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans, and procedures; analyze configuration and processing solutions; and test conformance to specifications.
• Apply best practices, tools, techniques, processes, and methodologies to design and develop new products or modify existing products.
• Ensure technical performance, quality, and adherence to schedule.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and manage subcontracts to secure required products or services.
• Lead design reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
• Plan and execute systems integration activities, develop test strategies, and ensure system performance meets requirements across hardware, software, and networked components.
• Travel to customer and subcontractor sites to support technical meetings and verification activities.
