About The Position

Wellington Management is seeking a Lead Systems Analyst for Mosaic Prism, its enterprise-wide platform for providing curated data from multiple sources. Prism enables users to query data as logical entities and navigate relationships along predefined paths. The team is responsible for the architecture, availability, and curation of Prism datasets, as well as platform resiliency, deployment tooling, and self-service capabilities used by business and technology teams across the firm. The analyst will own technical analysis and delivery for key data domains and platform capabilities, drive the quarterly roadmap across business partners, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to analysts. The role combines hands-on data analysis and modeling, stakeholder engagement, delivery ownership, and production support, working closely with development and platform engineering teams. The position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, with employees working in the office four days per week and remotely one day per week.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of experience in the asset management or financial services industry.
  • Strong hands-on understanding of investment management datasets and workflows, including positions, performance, reference and security-master data, and analytics such as DV01, duration, and returns.
  • Ability to recognize unexpected investment-data results and investigate their causes.
  • Excellent SQL skills, including multi-table joins, as-of/effective-date logic, and diagnosing discrepancies between data sources.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and familiarity with non-relational data technologies.
  • Practical Python experience for data analysis, troubleshooting, or related technical work.
  • Ability to read and write GraphQL and REST API queries for data access and investigation; service development experience is not required.
  • Working familiarity with AWS S3, Athena, and CloudWatch/OpenSearch for read-level data access and log investigation.
  • Understanding of messaging and notification patterns and batch scheduling concepts.
  • Experience independently leading technical initiatives, coordinating competing priorities across business and technology stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent the team with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a business-critical production environment, including production-support and escalation responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and guide and direct the work of others.
  • Ability and willingness to work in an energetic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related subject.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical analysis, design, and delivery of Prism data domains and platform capabilities, driving initiatives from requirements through production support.
  • Own and drive the quarterly PI roadmap for the Prism platform, coordinating deliverables across business and technology partners.
  • Define data requirements and guide enhancements to platform components, including data persistence and caching, notification and messaging, and metadata deployment and publishing processes.
  • Partner with data producers, consumers, business stakeholders, and application teams to onboard datasets and design logical data entities, keys, and relationships.
  • Assess downstream impacts of source-system changes and guide analysts through complex requirements.
  • Partner with Platform and Infrastructure engineering on deployment strategy, disaster recovery planning, and cloud migration initiatives affecting Prism.
  • Serve as a production-support escalation point, take ownership during incidents, and investigate data and platform issues using SQL, Python, API queries, cloud data, and logs.
  • Author and maintain support playbooks, troubleshooting guides, and administrative tooling.
  • Author and review Prism data-domain design and support documentation and help establish team documentation and design standards.
  • Coordinate with QA, analyst teams, and vendors to define test strategy and ensure smoke-test and regression coverage.
