About The Position

Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Lead Surgical Technologist to support our Main OR Surgical Services Team in the ENT & Plastics Service Lines at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a Full-time Days position. This position requires call and qualifies for competitive call differentials. A Lead Surgical Technologist in this role will support the ENT and Plastics service lines within the Main Operating Room while serving as a clinical resource and leader for the surgical team. This individual will assist during complex surgical procedures, maintain a sterile field, anticipate surgeon needs, ensure patient safety, and help promote efficient case flow and daily operations within the OR.

Requirements

Vocational Degree Required
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - NBSTSA
Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) NCCT
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Responsibilities

Assisting physicians during ENT and Plastics surgical procedures while anticipating the needs of the surgeon throughout the case
Assembling, organizing, and maintaining sterile fields for operative procedures
Supporting workflow efficiency, room turnover, and overall coordination within the operating room
Serving as a resource and mentor to Surgical Technologists and OR team members within the service line
Ensuring proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instrumentation
Collaborating with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
Assisting with cleaning, stocking, and preparation of operating rooms and surgical equipment between procedures
Maintaining knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and specialty-specific equipment related to ENT and Plastics procedures
