About The Position

This position is for a Working Lead Surgical Tech in the Operating Room at Abrazo West Campus Hospital. The role involves training and mentoring staff, coordinating the scheduling and efforts of Surgical Techs, and providing intra-operative support as a certified surgical technician. The Lead Surgical Tech assists the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub person, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures, and maintaining the sterile field. Responsibilities also include preparing operating rooms for surgery using appropriate techniques, providing technical services, and assisting in other assigned areas. The individual will participate in department performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
