Our surgical support staff focus on the unique skills required for assisting patients before, during, and after procedures. Join our Scripps operating room team as a Lead Surgical Tech (Spine) where you will ensure OR rooms are ready for surgery, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use. Monitor sterile field throughout procedure. Scrub for cases, anticipate the needs of the physician and operating team. Take initiative to utilize appropriate support services to resolve issues. Position and transport patients. Organize room cleanup and ensure efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment as necessary.

Requirements

3 years of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in the OR.
Technical competence in multiple surgical services.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Current BLS from the American Heart Association
Excellent communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Able to multi-task and work well in a team environment.
Detail oriented and able work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment.

Nice To Haves

4 years’ experience in the main OR
General and Ortho strongly preferred
