Role Overview Reporting to the Accounting Manager/GPO, this role provides financial leadership and expertise by driving supply chain accounting close and reporting activities, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. The position supports a strong control environment and provides financial oversight and guidance to finance and operational leaders. The successful candidate will build strong partnerships across operations and finance to develop and maintain a best-in-class supply chain accounting and finance infrastructure that supports a rapidly growing business. To succeed in this role, candidates must be forward-thinking, proactive leaders with experience operating in increasingly complex organizations across multiple geographies and business channels. This leader will be a collaborative accounting professional with the technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in a highly visible, growth-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, an advisory mindset, and strong people leadership capabilities are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and reporting preferred
  • Experience with inventory accounting and inventory lifecycle processes preferred
  • Strong accounting foundation with experience in Record-to-Report (R2R) processes; experience with public companies and global organizations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate overall Record-to-Report activities for the Supply Chain Accounting team supporting the Commerce business
  • Assist the Director of Supply Chain Accounting with SOX compliance and the development of a strong internal control framework
  • Ensure effective controls over inventory and intercompany movements, including domestic and international transfers
  • Lead month-end close activities for Commerce North America
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and reviews
  • Support the financial business partnerships with business leadership teams and the global corporate finance organization
  • Lead the financial review cycle with business leadership, creating predictable and repeatable processes that provide visibility into key business and operational performance metrics
  • Perform strategic analysis of financial and operational data to identify insights, risks, and business opportunities
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting standards, including U.S. GAAP interpretation and the communication of process changes and requirements as necessary
  • Evaluate, document, and communicate accounting transactions and support the development of accounting treatments for new business initiatives and models
  • Assist in the design and implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Partner cross-functionally with finance, accounting, and operational leaders to drive change management, improve efficiencies, and enhance process alignment
  • Assist in the development and performance management of more junior accounting team members through coaching, technical training, and providing performance feedback
