•$134,546 - $205,557•Hybrid

About The Position

The Lead Substation Engineer applies protective relaying and controls expertise to high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substations. The role supports a range of substation modifications and upgrades, from calculations, designs, and specifications to relaying philosophies, equipment selection, SCADA and telecommunications concepts, and preparation of I/O assignments and connection diagrams. It includes analyzing and designing single-line, relaying and metering, and DC schematic diagrams; preparing engineering studies; and independently reviewing calculations and drawings. The engineer guides and mentors engineers and designers, coordinates detailed design work, resolves engineering issues, and works with project managers, clients, and suppliers to deliver complete and timely designs. Responsibilities also include reviewing existing facilities and recommending upgrades or replacements, presenting findings, and developing professionally through peer learning. Travel to client or vendor offices and plant sites may be required for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification. The role has a hybrid schedule: three days per week in the office and two days remote. Relocation assistance may be available depending on location.
