About The Position

Strategic Programs addresses pressing challenges facing Wells Fargo across its businesses, supporting functions, and 200,000 employees. Our thought leaders operate under the Chief Operating Office (COO) and specialize in complex problems that have wide-ranging impact across the bank. Often a stabilizing influence, we provide the central direction and framework to drive momentum across a broad set of stakeholders. We prioritize the needs for our CEO, COO, and CFO, resulting in a diverse set of high priority initiatives (aka “Programs”) for Wells Fargo. Examples of work include organizational design, operating model optimization, expense reduction, and regulatory remediation. Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Strategy and Planning Consultant to join the Strategic Programs team within the Strategic Programs and Enterprise Change Management organization.

Requirements

5+ years of strategy or related experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Experience in a consulting firm or internal strategy team, managing initiatives in a complex environment.
Ability to drive problem solving for complex questions (e.g., develop hypothesis, structure problem, drive analyses, and design solutions)
Ability to build executive-level communications based on progress and findings.
Ability to partner with business leaders to achieve key goals through flexibility, collaboration, influence, and adaptability.
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint skills), with a strong focus on storytelling through PowerPoint.
Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment.

Responsibilities

Lead high-priority programs by working in project teams spanning businesses and support functions.
Assist in standing up programs (e.g., define problem, structure an approach) and creating a successful path to delivery (e.g., define workstreams, milestones, and timing).
Work alongside senior leaders as a strategic partner which will require navigating a highly matrixed environment.
Create executive-level communications for presentation to key stakeholders on progress, findings, and recommendations via succinct presentations and storytelling.
Guide a team through ambiguous and complex situations, while serving as a coach/advisor to team members as part of their growth and development.
Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as key participant in large scale planning
Provide principal level strategic consulting services to client organizations
Represent Wells Fargo on Industry boards and committees
Review and analyze complex larger-scale or longer-term challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
Identify strategic business investments and alliance opportunities
Make decisions in complex situations that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Provide guidance to less experienced staff
Evaluate and approve process of identified opportunities
Collaborate strategically and consult with all levels to resolve issues and achieve goals
Partner with executive management across Wells Fargo to define the business strategy and create then execute corresponding business plans and initiative
