About The Position

This position provides advanced analytical support, strategic planning, and project management for the Academic Initiatives department. Responsibilities include SAS programming, collaboration with internal and external teams, and accountability for operational effectiveness and efficiency to support Dallas College’s mission and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field with emphasis on data visualization, SAS programming, research design, and advanced analytics.
  • Official transcripts required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with SAS, SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Power Automate, Power Apps, Access, PowerPoint), and SharePoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday, Ad Astra Scheduling, Boomi, Edify (EAB), and higher education environments.
  • SAS certification, experience with R or Python, and use of SAS Enterprise Guide, Miner, and Visual Analytics.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a business analytics analyst, SAS programmer, and report developer for Academic Initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to establish quality control databases that enhance data accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve data issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain ad-hoc and recurring reports.
  • Provide strategic data support and research for the Academic Services division.
  • Collect and analyze complex data sets to inform academic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Consult with stakeholders to design metrics, dashboards, predictive models, and reports.
  • Deliver executive summaries and visualizations to communicate insights to leadership.
  • Train stakeholders on data interpretation and analytical techniques.
  • Partner with leadership to improve organizational processes and outcomes.
  • Manage multiple projects with shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Make strategic decisions based on historical context and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrate innovation, attention to detail, and strategic thinking.
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives that align Academic Initiatives with broader institutional goals.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on data-driven academic planning and innovation.
  • Manage high-impact projects with institution-wide visibility, ensuring alignment with compliance, accreditation, and performance metrics.
  • All employees are required to complete a minimum of 19 hours. People leaders are required an additional 16 hours of leadership development.
  • Exercises full discretion and decision-making authority in the recruitment, selection, hiring, mentoring, coaching, development & termination of staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, budgetary constraints, and workforce planning strategies.
  • Drive high performance by administering the performance management process timely, setting clear expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing initiatives that enhance employee engagement, motivation, and retention.
