About The Position

The Lead Angiography/Special Procedures Technologist acts as the expert-level principal radiologic technologist overseeing the technical operations required for the performance of routine and advanced procedures. Requirements

  • Associates from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
  • Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required)
  • 2 years of experience in radiology with surgery experience in use of CR (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (preferred)
  • Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (preferred)
  • Certification in Vascular-Interventional Radiology (preferred)
  • State Licensure (preferred)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
  • Picture archival communication system (PACS) experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assists Licensed Practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional and neuro-Interventional procedures.
  • Assists in coordination of research and implementation of process improvement projects in the department.
  • Coordinates work assignments including on-call schedule.
  • Provides input to leadership regarding hiring and annual performance appraisals.
  • Administers contrast with a power injector as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Assesses patient risk for allergic reaction prior to administration.
  • Selects and operates the imaging equipment and associated equipment.
  • Verifies patient’s clinical history and completes pre and post procedural documentation.
