Reporting to the AVP, Special Loans, this position guides and coordinates the work of Special Loans Analysts without direct team management responsibilities. This role is responsible for overseeing the analysis and management of complex and high-risk special loan accounts and facilitates the effective resolution of special loan cases while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Lead Special Loans Analyst works with the AVP to identify risks and implement strategic solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This role involves providing guidance and mentorship to Special Loans Analysts, contributing to their professional development. The Lead Special Loans Analyst is instrumental in maintaining detailed records, preparing comprehensive reports and ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders. The role may document processes and help define workflows as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business or related field (or equivalent combination of years of experience with High School diploma/ GED) required
  • 3+ years' experience in Special Loans
  • 3+ years' experience in the mortgage servicing industry
  • 2+ years' experience with ARM, DSI, Step Rate, SCRA, HELOC and other unconventional loan products
  • 2+ years' experience working in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Power Point)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and effectively lead discussions
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
