This role includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development. It involves supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, new product introduction and readiness, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence. The specialist will collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement. This position requires a technical understanding of engineering drawings and the ability to manage vendors and solve problems. The role exhibits depth and/or breadth of expertise in supplier quality and serves as a quality resource to the business. The specialist contributes to the development of strategy and policy and ensures delivery within their area of responsibility. They must be able to communicate complex messages to others and influence outcomes. This role may lead projects with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement. Developing networks and working through complex issues to build consensus with the team is essential. This role impacts approaches, projects and programs supporting the business organization and ways of working, as well as the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of their own team. Working within broad guidelines and policies, roles at this level have moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of evaluative judgment. The specialist uses sound judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function as well as cross-functional impact. They are a creative problem solver, using new perspectives on existing solutions, and leverage technical experience and data analysis to support recommendations. Internal and external resources are used to arrive at decisions.
