About The Position

This role involves maintaining a regular caseload, assisting with technical training, and supporting staff scheduling. The Lead Sonographer will troubleshoot equipment issues, act as a clinical resource for other sonographers, and respond to facility issues. They will also serve as a backup for STAT requests and escalate concerns to the director of ultrasound. Participation in field orientation for new sonographers and performing other duties as needed are also part of the role.

Requirements

Must have and maintain ARDMS or CCI certification.
Must have and maintain a valid state-issued Driver’s License.
Must have and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

Maintain a regular scheduled case load when not assisting Technical Supervisor.
Assist in the technical training for new hires and existing staff, as needed.
Assist in the management of designated technical staff scheduling, including regular schedules, on-call schedules, holiday schedules, vacation schedules, and other coverage issues.
Troubleshoot minor equipment problems and advise or initiate a service call as needed.
Act as a resource for other sonographers when clinical or technical issues arise.
Respond to any issue(s) or complaint(s) arising from a facility, by being proactive in providing an immediate solution.
Act as a backup for any STAT request if a field sonographer in his/her area is unable to respond or report to the ordering facility.
Escalate any issue(s) to the director of ultrasound as needed.
Participate as needed in the field orientation of new sonographers.
Perform other duties as needed.
