About The Position

As a Lead Software Engineer in the Automation Department of R&D, you’ll work on innovative software systems for critical infrastructure that support everyday life, from critical, life-saving operations to everyday tasks, like flipping a light switch.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience
  • Interested in full stack development using Kubernetes, docker, go, and React.
  • Take ownership of the software development and testing process from conception to product release and maintenance.
  • Enjoy developing software with small, collaborative teams working together in an office.
  • Passionate about creating reliable, secure software solutions of the highest quality for automation, monitoring, and control of critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Application and User Experience engineers to understand user scenarios and customer use cases.
  • Develop using the full software stack: from microservices implemented in go, to beautiful, responsive web frontends implemented with React and JavaScript.
  • Design and deploy containerized applications that run in a Kubernetes cluster.
  • Implement operating system services running on SEL’s ruggedized computers or in virtualized environments.
  • Employ threat modeling, static analysis, vulnerability scanning, fuzz testing and other methods to ensure the products being developed meet the highest standards for quality and security.
  • Build and maintain CI pipelines to build and test new product features.
