About The Position

The Mastercard Authentication Program delivers authentication solutions that enable secure digital commerce globally. Smart Interface is Mastercard’s EMV 3-D Secure (3DS) Server platform and a critical part of the EMVCo 3DS ecosystem, supporting secure, scalable, standards-compliant communication among merchants, gateways, acquirers, Directory Servers, and issuer Access Control Servers. Mastercard is seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Engineer (Architect) to provide technical leadership and help define and drive the long-term architecture and technology strategy of the Smart Interface platform. The role combines software engineering and architecture expertise, EMV 3DS domain knowledge, and hands-on technical leadership to guide the design, development, and evolution of Mastercard’s next-generation authentication platform. The successful candidate will lead platform architecture and engineering, develop secure and resilient distributed transaction systems, guide engineers, and collaborate with product, engineering, architecture, and standards teams. The role also includes mentoring, communicating technical decisions to stakeholders, supporting production systems, and helping evolve Mastercard authentication technologies. The position is intended to be filled by 01/12/2027, or as soon as possible if that date has passed.
