As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, sustaining, and troubleshooting complex operational data flows, including storage, transport, management, and security. You will work closely with mission customers to perform exploratory data analysis—cleaning, enriching, and transforming raw data into actionable formats. Beyond technical execution, you will serve as a technical lead, overseeing multiple development teams to ensure quality control and adherence to strict performance standards. You will recommend new technologies, optimize existing data flow distributions, and ensure all software solutions align with system-level requirements and hardware constraints.

Requirements

  • Master’s + 10 years of SWE experience; OR Bachelor’s + 12 years of SWE experience; OR 14 years of SWE experience (no degree).
  • Extensive experience in Java (J2EE/Eclipse), Python, and Bash/Shell scripting within a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Proven expertise in Apache NiFi (system administration and canvas) and managing complex operational data flows.
  • Strong proficiency with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence), Git, and Docker containerization.
  • Experience serving as a team lead, managing agile development processes, and overseeing the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • TS/SCI with FS Polygraph clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Perl scripting and Corporate data security/compliance policies.
