Lead Software Engineer - IP FS Data Protection and Recovery
About The Position
As a Lead Software Engineer in JPMorganChase’s Infrastructure Platforms Foundational Services Data Protection and Recovery Product Line, you will contribute to an agile team that builds, enhances, and delivers secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will develop and deliver technology solutions across multiple technical areas in support of the firm’s business objectives. The role includes leading effective adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, setting standards for validating AI outputs, and promoting safe and compliant use of AI in engineering workflows. You will also help improve operational stability through automation and remediation of recurring issues, evaluate architectural approaches with internal and external teams, and coordinate across technology teams to support global alignment.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages; Python and Jules/Jenkins deployment are listed.
- Demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, including setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
- Proficiency across all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Experience with backend APIs using FastAPI.
- Advanced knowledge of NoSQL databases, including MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies, including storage, compute, and network.
Responsibilities
- Execute software design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using creative approaches to address technical problems.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and promote reuse of effective patterns.
- Use Software Development Life Cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues and improve application and system stability.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability to existing systems and information architecture.
- Lead collaboration between technology teams to ensure global alignment.
