About The Position

As a Lead Software Engineer on JPMorganChase’s Healthcare Payments team, you will serve as a core technical contributor on an agile team, designing and delivering trusted technology products securely, reliably, and at scale. You will deliver critical technology solutions across technical areas and business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. The role includes end-to-end software engineering, cloud infrastructure design and operation on AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, automation and delivery, and guiding responsible use of approved AI-assisted engineering tools and practices.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end solutions across system design, application development, testing, and production operational stability.
• Proven Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code experience, including reusable modules, remote state and locking, and workspace and environment best practices.
• Practical cloud-native engineering experience designing and operating workloads on AWS.
• Strong AWS compute expertise with EC2, EKS, and Lambda, and event-driven architecture and integration experience with EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and Kinesis Data Stream, with attention to performance, resiliency, and cost.
• Solid AWS networking knowledge, including VPC, subnets, security groups, NACLs, Route 53, and load balancers.
• Experience with AWS storage and data platforms such as S3 and EBS, and databases such as RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB as applicable.
• Strong automation and delivery skills, including CI/CD pipeline design, Terraform workflow integration, automated validation and testing such as linting and plan approvals, and scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, or troubleshooting, and setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations.
• Experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption of AI-assisted tools in delivery practices.

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, using approaches beyond routine or conventional methods to solve technical problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring remediation and improve the operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Lead team evaluation sessions that probe architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability to existing systems and information architecture.
• Lead Software Engineering communities of practice to promote awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Establish consistent validation standards for AI-assisted work, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reuse of effective patterns.
• Use Software Development Life Cycle toolchain capabilities, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation, to improve the value realized from automation.
