JOB PURPOSE Acts as a product-team problem solver and domain SME to design, test, and deliver best in class solutions. Perform business/software analysis. Coordinate work with moderate complexity within assigned product team. You’ll join a high-impact backend product team responsible for driving the technical direction and architecture for the List and Services domain, focusing on the development of high-performance APIs for lists, post-order services, and the non-merchandise ecosystem to power critical parts of the DSG eCommerce platform. As a lead, you will partner closely with product managers to shape strategic roadmaps, provide technical guidance, and effectively communicate to key stakeholders. You will also elevate coding standards, conduct PR reviews, and mentor engineers to ensure the team consistently delivers secure, scalable, and highly reliable applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • 6-10 years of experience
  • 7-12 months experience of generalist supervision of junior colleague
  • Java, C# (Legacy Support), Python, Spring Framework
  • PostgreSQL, Databricks, BigQuery, Elastic, Redis
  • Kafka
  • Git/GitHub, JIRA/Confluence, Agile/Scrum workflows

Responsibilities

  • Own development of the most complex existing and new software by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement within assigned product team.
  • Develop software that is fast, secure and reliable to meet defined requirements.
  • Monitor, identify, and correct the most complex software defects to maintain fully functioning software within the product team.
  • Own work with cross-functional teams to conceptualize products and services, leveraging data to drive original design ideas and decisions for assigned product team.
  • Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative solutions to better meet users’ and/or business, performance, quality needs.
  • Own a roadmap map to facilitate software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
  • Find root cause and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.
  • Develop medium- or long-term work schedules that enable the organization to achieve its business goals. Involves coordinating across multiple teams.
  • Support the collection functional requirements using document analysis and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
  • Lead design of complex database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database solutions for optimum performance across multiple programs/domains.
  • Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team.
  • Develop and maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Contribute to the management of a portfolio of programs within assigned product team while reporting to and in partnership with senior teammates.
  • Drive design, implementation, and evolution of robust and effectively aligned architecture solutions that operate in the product ecosystem.
  • Approve database specifications, ensuring all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.
