About The Position

Drives the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale platform capabilities that enable standardized, secure, and scalable software delivery across the organization. Leads the development of foundational platforms and control-plane capabilities, including self-service developer experiences, policy-as-code governance, and observability frameworks aligned to platform strategy. Applies advanced software engineering and platform architecture expertise to define and implement reusable patterns, golden paths, and integration standards across cloud-native environments. Acts as a key technical leader across multiple teams, influencing platform strategy, accelerating adoption of standardized engineering practices, and ensuring compliance through system-enforced controls rather than manual processes. Partners with senior technology leadership, product teams, and enterprise architecture to shape long-term platform direction, delivering innovative solutions that improve developer productivity, reduce risk, and drive consistency across the software lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, software architecture, and design principles.
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and security practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep expertise in platform engineering, including building and operating developer platforms, control planes, or internal developer portals (e.g., Backstage).
  • Strong experience with cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes/OpenShift, microservices, and distributed systems at enterprise scale.
  • Proven experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines with automated governance, including SAST, dependency scanning, CI/CD gating, and policy enforcement.
  • Hands-on experience with policy-as-code frameworks and policy engines (e.g., OPA/Rego or similar), enabling automated governance, compliance enforcement, and deployment gating.
  • Experience designing and implementing self-service software delivery platforms using templates, golden repositories, and automated provisioning workflows.
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar) and integration patterns across REST, messaging, and APIs.
  • Experience with observability platforms (metrics, logs, tracing) and building standardized telemetry frameworks using tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, or similar.
  • Experience implementing enterprise governance and compliance controls within engineering platforms, including change management integration (e.g., ServiceNow) and automated deployment gates.
  • Experience with integration platforms and API management solutions, with MuleSoft platform experience considered a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to define and scale platform adoption strategies, including onboarding, documentation, and developer enablement.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Implements software architecture and engineering approaches for complex, high impact initiatives that support strategic goals set by executives and senior leadership, and establishes technical plans for the area of responsibility.
  • Adopts, refines, and promotes advanced software engineering standards, practices, and governance mechanisms within the domain, enabling multiple teams to improve quality, reliability, and delivery outcomes.
  • Partners with senior technology leadership, product, and architecture teams to shape technology strategy for the domain, providing deep technical insight and proposing solution patterns that influence roadmaps and priorities.
  • Leads the end-to-end technical design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions, delivering reference implementations that inform new products and platforms.
  • Resolves complex technical issues in the area of responsibility, designing innovative architectures and performance, reliability, and scalability improvements that advance business objectives.
  • Provides technical leadership, guidance, coaching, and training to engineers across teams, raising the technical bar through reviews, design sessions, and knowledge sharing activities.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and research relevant to the domain, building prototypes and solution concepts that provide measurable input into new products, features, or capabilities.
  • Contributes directly to long-term technical plans for the area of responsibility through well reasoned recommendations, design proposals, and implementation experience.
  • Leads large, complex projects and processes, coordinating technical work across multiple teams to ensure cohesive, high-quality outcomes.
  • Works independently with substantial autonomy, demonstrating technical innovation while balancing risk, and making engineering decisions that meaningfully impact results for the division.
