About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer for a dynamic team. This role develops and supports software interfaces, middleware platforms, services, programs, and applications, including systems used in laboratory environments. The position is full-time, exempt, and assigned to a first-shift schedule, with standard business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice when possible. The role also provides on-call production support and support during and after system implementations and conversions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
At least 5 years of experience developing applications for Windows operating systems using client-server or web-based architecture.
At least 7 years of experience with JPA/ORM (Hibernate), JUnit, SQL, XML/XSD, JSON, Cache’, Oracle, and IRIS for Health.
At least 5 years of experience and solid troubleshooting skills for enterprise-level production systems, including instrument interfaces, middleware platforms, and Laboratory Information Systems.
At least 5 years of experience developing within InterSystems Cache’/IRIS for Health and Windows applications.
At least 5 years of experience developing within Laboratory Information Systems, instrument interfaces, and middleware platforms.
At least 5 years of experience developing technical design documentation using Microsoft Word, Visio, and other tools.
At least 5 years of experience performing data modeling and system configuration.
Working knowledge of CSP and web services.
Ability to learn existing applications by reviewing code and analyzing data.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in healthcare applications and systems.

Nice To Haves

Current or prior Labcorp experience.
At least 5 years of experience with Java Messaging Service.
At least 5 years of experience with WebLogic/WebSphere.
At least 5 years of experience with RESTful web services.
At least 5 years of experience with Java, Spring, and Angular 2.X or later.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed specifications for instrument interfaces, middleware platforms, supporting services, programs, and applications.
Design, code, test, debug, and troubleshoot interfaces, services, programs, and applications.
Analyze, review, and modify programs to improve operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
Assist with the support and maintenance of systems and applications.
Provide on-call support for production systems.
Provide support during and after system implementations and conversions.
Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
