About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to prepare detailed specifications and design, develop, test, debug, troubleshoot, and maintain instrument interfaces, middleware platforms, supporting services, programs, and applications. The role supports production systems and assists with system implementations and conversions. The position is full-time, exempt, and assigned to a first-shift schedule, generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice when possible.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 5 years of experience developing applications for Windows operating systems using client-server or web-based architecture.
• At least 7 years of experience with JPA/ORM (Hibernate), JUnit, SQL, XML/XSD, JSON, Cache’, Oracle, and IRIS for Health.
• At least 5 years of experience and strong troubleshooting skills for enterprise production systems, including instrument interfaces, middleware platforms, and Laboratory Information Systems.
• At least 5 years of experience developing with InterSystems Cache’/IRIS for Health and Windows applications.
• At least 5 years of experience developing within Laboratory Information Systems, instrument interfaces, and middleware platforms.
• At least 5 years of experience creating technical design documentation using Microsoft Word, Visio, and other tools.
• At least 5 years of experience performing data modeling and system configuration.
• Working knowledge of CSP and Web Services.
• Ability to take initiative to learn existing applications by reviewing code and analyzing data.
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with healthcare applications and systems.

Nice To Haves

• Current or prior Labcorp experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with Java Messaging Service.
• At least 5 years of experience with WebLogic/WebSphere.
• At least 5 years of experience with RESTful Web Services.
• At least 5 years of experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience with Angular 2.X or later.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed specifications for instrument interfaces, middleware platforms, supporting services, programs, and applications.
• Design, code, test, debug, and troubleshoot interfaces, services, programs, and applications.
• Analyze, review, and modify programs to improve operating efficiency or meet new requirements.
• Assist with systems and application support and maintenance.
• Provide on-call support for production systems.
• Provide support during and after system implementations and conversions.
• Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
