About The Position

This position is responsible for serving as a lead worker by supervising and participating in the provision of social service assistance to eligible clients in the areas of food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance. The role involves interviewing clients to determine need and eligibility, preparing accurate client records, referring clients to community agencies, and ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years experience coordinating or managing work in an office environment, preferably in the Social Services field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to operate and answer a telephone.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Valid FL Drivers' License.

Responsibilities

Supervises and participates in the provision of social service assistance to eligible clients.
Interviews clients to determine need and eligibility for services.
Prepares accurate and complete client records.
Refers clients to community agencies and maintains effective working relationships with them.
Ensures compliance with program policies and procedures.
Assesses client needs and eligibility; provides referrals as needed.
Processes client assistance requests and related paperwork.
Assists with Food Stamps, Medicaid, and ACCESS applications.
Maintains client records and follow-up documentation.
Manages food pantry inventory, storage, and compliance.
Coordinates Food Bank orders and monthly reporting.
