About The Position

This position serves as a lead worker, supervising and participating in the provision of social service assistance to eligible clients. Responsibilities include assisting clients with needs such as food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance. The role involves interviewing clients to determine need and eligibility, preparing accurate client records, referring clients to community agencies, and ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years experience coordinating or managing work in an office environment preferably in the Social Services field or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to operate and answer a telephone.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Valid FL Drivers' License

Responsibilities

Assesses client needs and eligibility; provides referrals as needed.
Processes client assistance requests and related paperwork.
Assists with Food Stamps, Medicaid, and ACCESS applications.
Maintains client records and follow-up documentation.
Manages food pantry inventory, storage, and compliance.
Coordinates Food Bank orders and monthly reporting.
Serves as lead worker by supervising and participating in the provision of social service assistance to eligible clients.
Interviews clients to determine need and eligibility to receive services.
Prepares accurate and complete client records.
Refers clients to community agencies and maintains effective working relationships with the same.
Ensures compliance with program policies and procedures.
