About The Position

Quad is seeking an experienced Lead Sheetfed Offset Press Operator for its Spartanburg, South Carolina packaging team. The role leads production activities while setting up and operating advanced sheetfed offset presses to produce high-quality packaging products. Responsibilities include press setup, quality control, troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and coordinating production to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals. Experience with Heidelberg XL 105 or XL 106 UV presses is highly preferred, while experience with other sheetfed offset presses is also welcomed. The Spartanburg facility produces packaging solutions for healthcare, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods, and retail industries. It is an 82,000-square-foot manufacturing facility with sheetfed offset, narrow-web flexographic, die-cutting, and folder/gluer equipment, described as clean and climate-controlled. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Pay starts at $25.00 per hour or more based on relevant experience and work history. Qualified candidates may be eligible for paid relocation assistance.

Requirements

Previous lead sheetfed offset press operating experience is required.
Strong knowledge of sheetfed offset printing processes, color management, and print quality standards.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to prioritize quality while working efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to pass a color vision assessment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to accurately read job tickets, production specifications, and measuring devices.
Ability to lift 10–15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
Ability to work overtime and on holidays as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating Heidelberg XL 105 or XL 106 UV presses is highly preferred.
Experience operating other sheetfed offset equipment is welcomed.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate sheetfed offset presses according to customer specifications and production requirements.
Review job tickets, substrate requirements, ink specifications, and plate configurations before production.
Lead daily press operations and communicate production requirements to support team members.
Monitor press performance and make adjustments to maintain print quality and production efficiency.
Maintain appropriate ink, paper, plates, and material levels throughout production.
Perform quality inspections and complete required production documentation.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic press maintenance.
Conduct line clearances and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Support safety initiatives, quality standards, and continuous improvement efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
