This role involves performing installation and commissioning of drive systems, power systems, automation systems, or dynamic positioning systems at customer site locations, primarily during ship construction. The specialist will also address troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled port visits or at sea, supporting a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of equipment. Responsibilities include developing documentation for work execution (e.g., commissioning and maintenance procedures), conducting customer training, and handling on-site project management and technical leadership to ensure customer satisfaction. The role also involves identifying sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades, providing on-call support, and assisting in the growth and direction of the North American business. Support will be provided to engineering teams working on customer upgrade projects, and timely service reports and administrative requirements must be completed. Work will be performed on-board vessels within GE and Customer safety guidelines, either in shipyards or offshore, potentially requiring extended hours or overtime during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
