About The Position

The Lead Service Tech Helper works directly alongside the Lead Service Technician to perform commercial roofing repairs and service work on a daily basis. This is a hands-on, physical role focused on learning the trade, supporting field operations, and developing the skills necessary to advance into a Lead Technician position. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, safety-conscious, and takes pride in doing quality work.

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of experience in commercial roofing, construction, or a skilled trade (entry-level candidates with strong work ethic are welcome)
  • Willingness and physical ability to work on rooftops, ladders, and in all weather conditions
  • Reliable transportation to the company yard or designated meeting point
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Strong attendance record and punctuality

Nice To Haves

  • Any prior roofing, waterproofing, or construction experience
  • OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Technician with all phases of commercial roof repairs including membrane patching, flashing installation, seam welding, sealant application, and drain work
  • Prepare work areas by clearing debris, setting up equipment, and staging materials prior to and during repairs
  • Safely carry, stage, and manage tools and materials on the roof and at ground level
  • Operate hand tools, utility knives, heat guns, and caulking equipment under the direction of the Lead Tech
  • Clean up jobsite upon completion and assist with loading and organizing the service vehicle
  • Follow all OSHA safety requirements, fall protection procedures, and company safety policies at all times
  • Wear appropriate PPE for every task; never skip safety steps
  • Participate in pre-job tailgate safety briefings and ask questions when unsure
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately to the Lead Technician
  • Actively observe and learn roofing system types, repair methods, and material applications
  • Accept coaching and direction from the Lead Technician as part of on-the-job training
  • Build toward proficiency with core repair tasks over time with the goal of advancement
  • Assist with loading and unloading the service vehicle at the start and end of each day
  • Help maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition
  • Notify the Lead Tech of any damaged or missing equipment
