About The Position

Ya Hala is hiring a Lead Server to join our front-of-house team. Located in SE Portland, Ya Hala has been serving Portland’s finest Lebanese food since 1999. Built on quality, tradition, hospitality, and gathering, we are proud to provide guests with a warm and memorable Lebanese dining experience. The Lead Server is responsible for providing excellent guest service while also supporting daily FOH operations. This role helps train and guide servers, supports communication between FOH and BOH, assists with service flow, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining room. When a manager is not present, the Lead Server may act as the point person during service.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• 2–5 years of server experience, preferably in a full-service restaurant
• Strong understanding of international cuisine; Lebanese or Middle Eastern cuisine knowledge preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to train, support, and guide FOH team members effectively
• Experience resolving guest concerns calmly and professionally
• Ability to work independently with urgency and attention to detail
• Comfortable acting as a point person during service when needed
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Food Handler’s card
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, carrying, and moving throughout the shift

• Lebanese or Middle Eastern cuisine knowledge preferred
