The Lead SEL Teacher will serve as an exemplary teacher and instructional leader within the relevant content area. Their classroom will function as a model for effective instruction. This role involves a full teaching load, planning and facilitating new teacher orientations, professional development sessions, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). The lead teacher will also manage the budget and ordering of materials, gather and distribute professional resources, and organize common assessments, timelines, and testing materials. A key responsibility is collecting and analyzing assessment data with teacher teams to inform instruction, supporting the development of common assessments and the implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks. The role includes planning, facilitating, and participating in PLCs, faculty meetings, professional development, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies, and new teacher days. The Lead SEL Teacher will also be a team member of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) and Middle School Department PLCs. Additional duties may be assigned by the principal, and responsibilities may extend beyond the regular school day/school year.
