Chesapeake Montessori is a licensed childcare center seeking a Lead Teacher to support the Preschool age group. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, love working with children, and desire to work in a fun and professional environment. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or an elementary Montessori Certification or an applicant who is in the process of obtaining certification
- Classroom experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
- Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
- Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
- Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
