About The Position

The LEAD Scholars Program at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit Catholic University, is accepting applications to teach three lower-division 2-unit seminar courses. These courses are designed to provide transfer students with navigational skills for institutional success, offer an overview of networking and negotiating, explore various medical and public health careers, guide first-generation college students through graduate school research and application processes, and help students develop skills to obtain opportunities in non-profit and social benefit organizations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required in non-profit administration, counseling, higher education or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience working in the non-profit or social benefits field.

Responsibilities

• Teaching one lecture section of LEAD 101; LEAD 16; LEAD 18; LEAD 20; or LEAD 22 during the designated quarter of the 26-27 academic year.
• Conducting all assigned class meetings and individual conferences with students.
• Assigning and evaluating student work including exams and written assignments.
• Holding weekly office hours on campus.
• Submitting student grades to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline.
• Administering numerical and narrative course evaluations to each class as assigned by the chair.
• Fulfilling other instructional or academic duties as may be assigned by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, or the Program Director.
